new-principal

"I would like to welcome Brett King as our new P-12 Principal, and Special Education Director.  Brett has spent the past 16 years working in many facets of education after graduating with his master's degree from the University at Albany in Literacy and Students with Disabilities.  Brett was born and raised in Saranac Lake, and is from a long standing line of educators going back three generations. Brett currently resides in Fabius, NY with his wife and two children.  Through growing up and living in a small town, he realizes how important community support is to the working of a school and looks forward to building relationships with the various families that make up the communities that our school serves. Brett has worked as a special education and general education teacher in Gloversville, Y., along with being an A I S (Academic Intervention Services) provider for the North Syracuse School District.  Brett has also worked as an Assistant Principal in Dryden, NY, and as a Principal in the Westhill School District. All of these experiences have given Brett a very diverse background in curriculum, leadership, student support services, and student management. Outside of school walls, the Kings spend a great deal of time skiing in the winter months at Labrador Mountain, hiking on many of the local state lands, working around their house, and relaxing at their camp.   Brett is active in his church community and is the chairman of the board of directors for A Time to Grow Nursery School located in Fabius, NY.   Brett looks forward to getting to know the staff, students, and community of Otselic Valley over the coming months as well as working with the other administrators and board members." -- Mrs. Gonzalez
