O V Star Awards continue year-long recognition of good character in action. At the most recent O V Star Awards presentation, Vikings were celebrated for the many ways they practice comradery, which is the spirit of friendly good will. Our students practice cheerful compassion, care, and community-building every day, and we couldn't be more proud. This month's O V Stars were also given to some students who demonstrated responsibility, last month's theme. We appreciate the staff members who noticed our Vikings' good attitudes and so thoughtfully described them, Miss Blake who prepared the stars and returned to school to give them out at both Morning Program and in classrooms, and the helpers who assisted Miss Blake with the presentations. ******************************* This student does a great job of cleaning up after herself during centers and she always follows directions the first time she is asked. This O V Star for responsibility goes to HANNAH M. This student helped her friend read a library book. She is very helpful in the Library. This O V Star for responsibility goes to JAYLEIGH S. This student held the door at the main entrance for the other students. This O V Star for responsibility goes to ADALYNN P. These students were able to work together in a group to complete a poster about 3 different types of communities. This student went out of her way to help someone in her group that was struggling. She took the time to make sure this student felt accepted and used kind and comforting words to encourage the student to complete their work. She is always patient and kind with her peers and makes them feel accepted and proud of their achievements. She is a great team player and inspires others to work together too. This O V Star for comradery goes to PAISLEY P. These students always play games together with good sportsmanship. They work together and always say, "Great job!" whether they win or lose. These O V Stars for comradery go to RILEY W., CLAY W., ASHVILLE L., and GUNNER S. This student remembers his classroom rules and kindly reminds his friends how they should work together and take turns at the sand table. Out on the playground he is always sure to include everyone with his pretend dinosaur game. This O V Star for comradery goes to LIAM H. When another student arrived in our classroom and saw our elf by the letter chart at the rug, he noticed that Snowflake our elf had a note. He wasn't sure what the note said and became discouraged by some of the tricky words. This student helped him to read the words on Snowflake's note. This O V Star for comradery goes to PIPER S. While in the hallway, an older student made fun of a student's hat. One student said "Your hat is beautiful." Another student said, "I love your hat." A final student said, "I want a hat like yours." Their kindness helped our friend feel better and helped her to see that her hat is great. These O V Stars for comradery go to JAYLEIGH, CARTER, and WILSON. This student is a good friend. She is helpful and kind to her friends. This O V Star for comradery goes to IZZY N. This student always stands up to bad behavior that she sees in class. This O V Star for comradery goes to CAELIN R. This student worked excellently with his partner on their Christmas tree poster. They both put in effort and worked as a team, highlighting each of their strengths. While waiting to continue on his woodworking project, this student helped out his classmates with their projects, whether to steady boards or grab supplies. While working on woodworking projects, this student was more than willing to help a classmate with steadying wood and helping insert screws into the project.
