Some plays are great for an evening’s amusement; some plays are both riveting and so rich in substance that audience members will be thinking about them for a long time. This year’s production of “I Don’t Want to Talk About It”* by Bradley Hayward is the latter. In keeping with the Otselic Valley High School tradition of working with challenging material in their student-led productions, this year an ensemble cast will play multiple roles in vignettes that come together by the play’s conclusion. While the play’s themes are rooted in the experience of American teenagers everywhere, they all speak to the power of words. Because of the play’s serious content, it is most suitable for audiences in Middle and High School, and adulthood.* Two performances only: Friday, Nov. 12 at 7 pm and Saturday, Nov. 13 at 2 pm in the MPR. Tickets are $5 (adults), $4 (seniors), and $3 (students). Please note that seats must be reserved in advance by emailing Ms. Smith at dsmith2@ovcs.org. To accommodate COVID-19 protocols, seats will be assigned in family pods (small groups with space between them). Seats will not be assigned at the door; you must email Ms. Smith in advance. Congratulations to everyone who worked on this powerful production. Student director: Nicholas RamsdellFaculty advisors: Mrs. Christine Kalin, Ms. Danielle SmithStage crew and set construction: Eric Cookingham, Jr. Braeden Bunting, Raygen FlemingLighting and sound: Dominick PerryPoster design: Wyatt Eaton Cast (in order of appearance): Thomas Stanley, Riley Bartlett, Josie Guernsey, Lilly Palmer, Wyatt Eaton, River Reandeau, Riley Williams, Mackenzie Reandeau, Caylene Russell, Georgia Cookingham, Braeden Bunting Thank Yous go out to all who made this possible, especially parents and guardians, and with special thanks to the Otselic Valley custodial staff, Otselic Valley administration, The Sunshine Shop for costumes, Miriah Lawrence, and Amanda Kalin Burns for making t-shirts for Jake and Idea. *This play is appropriate for students in grades 6-12 and adult audiences.
