Morning Program is back! Our weekly morning assembly, this year on Fridays for students in PreK through 4th grade, is a memorable part of O V’s school culture that we’re delighted to see return. At each assembly students participate in songs, the flag salute, weather report, jokes, music, a birthday pencil and song, and more. Beginning next week, 4th graders will take turns at the microphone presenting each program segment. Everyone gets to participate in special features that rotate through the year-long schedule.“Who likes to sing? “Who likes to dance? Who likes to tell jokes?” Ms. Lawrence asked today as she described the upcoming Open Mics where students can briefly share their performing talents. The One and Only Ivan, a book that all Vikings and, we hope, the community will get to know later in this school year, was shown. OV Star Awards will also return, she said, this time with recognition tied to monthly positive character traits that students will be exploring all year long. The Morning Program routine is a friendly, welcoming, elementary-wide celebration where students connect to Otselic Valley beyond their individual classrooms. We see you, Vikings, and we’re so glad you’re here!(Although Morning Program is not open to family members and community guests at this time, we are working on more ways to share the assembly with you.)I will make today a great day! I am in the BEST school. I will walk and talk like I am in the BEST school. I will give my best effort. My teachers are proud of me. I am an O V Viking. [Photo album on Facebook can be seen here.]
