A big, blue, brand new kayak is in Mrs. Osowski’s room along with a stack of outdoor games, all ready to go. In Mrs. Young’s room, we found a camping prize pack just right for the approaching summer. There’s also a mini-fridge and a flat screen TV tucked away in a classroom where a fishing pole is peeking out of a small mountain of gifts for students. A glam prize pack, a barbecue prize pack, and others are on their way too, as well as tons of gift cards. All this and more will go home with lucky prom-goers who attend the After Prom Party, thanks in part to the generosity of the Otselic Valley Teachers Association, other staff members, and our community. In teams and independently, staff have assembled wonderful giveaways that Vikings will be awarded this weekend. They join other members of the community and business donors who together are making this a wonderful return to Prom for our students. Mrs. Stoklosa explains: “After the pandemic year that we have all had and the loss of last year’s Prom, we feel we should do our best to support our students at this milestone event. After our OVTA Community Outreach Committee discussion, we resolved that staff members work together to create prize donations in addition to the prizes that were obtained through collaboration with local businesses and groups. We are hopeful that with generous support, we can give our kids the Prom they’ve looked forward to for so long!”This year's After Prom Party presented by S A D D will be in Cincinnatus at The Bowling Barn where there will be lots of fun, food and prize giveaways! Prizes will range from gift certificates to big prizes and gift packs including door supplies, movies, games and more. “We are very excited to support our students and commemorate this special occasion!” Mrs. Stoklosa said.Vikings, it’s not too late to get tickets to Prom and/or sign up for the After Prom Party.
