Congratulations to Morgan Smith and Mrs. Carolina O'Connor who were honored May 12 at the Business and Education Partnership Scholar Recognition ceremony. This annual event presented by  DCMO  BOCES, ONC BOCES, and SUNY Oneonta recognizes an outstanding senior and a school mentor of their choosing from each component school district across both BOCES. The ceremonial banquet is usually held at SUNY Oneonta, but this year's virtual event combined a real-time awards broadcast from 41 schools, plus small local celebrations. Morgan, Mrs. O'Connor, and guests watched the livestream while enjoying their awards celebration sponsored by Morrisville State College. Students are chosen for this honor based on scholarship, leadership, and service to their school and community. Teachers eligible for mentor nomination can be from any subject or grade level, and are chosen by the student based on their significant and beneficial influence. The Scholar Recognition Program promotes relationships between the business community, schools, and higher education across our region. Event supporters include SUNY Oneonta, SUNY Morrisville, SUNY Delhi, Hartwick College, The Daily Star, NBT Bank, and more. Congratulations Morgan Smith and Mrs. O'Connor!
