“Each month, I receive the Scholastic Book Club magazines and order forms to send home for students to share with their families and purchase books if they are able,” wrote Mrs. Davis. “Some very hard working families cannot afford to purchase books to have at home, especially at various times of the year when holidays and new school supplies take much of their incomes. But, reading is SO important.How amazing would it be for each student to receive one age-appropriate book every month at no cost to their parents? Scholastic has books every month that are $1 or $1.50. I would LOVE for each of my students to be able to bring home a new book each month during the school year from September to June. Seem crazy and unrealistic?”Turns out, it wasn’t crazy or unrealistic at all.Thanks to the generosity of our community, ALL students in Pre-K through 2nd grade--including Mrs. Davis’s students--are now sponsored, and each will be receiving a book to take home monthly. “I am blown away by the kindness that exists in the Otselic Valley community and beyond,”  said Mrs. Davis. “In less than 24 hours, 68 OV students in K-2 were sponsored $15 each, to receive a free book every month for the entire school year! No questions asked except, ‘Where can I send the money?’ Thank you so much for your generosity! You all are incredible!”The Otselic Valley community has long practiced generosity, including previous Scholastic Book Club support. Mrs. Marston first brought this opportunity to her classroom last year, and all her students benefited.
