The Otselic Valley Central School District Board of Education is pleased to announce that two individuals have accepted invitations to interview as finalists in the search for a new Superintendent of Schools at Otselic Valley.The Board of Education will interview Dr. Kathleen E. You will need to provide your name, e-mail address, phone number, and physical address. Dr. Kathleen Affigne recently retired and lives in Dutchess County, NY with her husband and daughter. Her administrative experience includes four years as the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction, and Pupil Personnel Services  for the Millbrook Central School District. Prior to working in Millbrook, she was the Director of Instructional Services for the Warwick Valley Central School District and Park Avenue Elementary School's Building Principal (Warwick Valley CSD). During her first six years as Park Avenue's Building Principal, she worked with teachers, students, support staff, parents, District leaders, and board members to bring Park Avenue Elementary School from performing below similar schools in New York State to its designation, by the U.S. Secretary of Education, as a 2006 NCLB-Blue Ribbon School. Dr. Affigne began her career in the Monroe-Woodbury Central School District where she was an Instrumental Music Teacher until being appointed as the District's K-12 Music Coordinator. Since leaving the Millbrook Central School District, Dr. Affigne has been filling per diem/interim building principal and assistant principal positions in the Wappingers Central School District, New Rochelle City School District, and the Highland Falls-Fort Montgomery Central School District. Dr. Affigne’s core competencies include: Standards-Based Reform Aligned with Professional DevelopmentCommunity CollaborationStrategic VisionGrant and Contract ManagementProgram Design, Implementation, and Evaluation      Performing ArtsData Driven CulturePupil Personnel Services/Special EducationPositive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS)Response to Intervention (RtI)     Instructional Technology     Organizational Readiness for Change Dr. Affigne holds a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from the Univerisity of Bridgeport, a Master of Science in Music Education from  Central Connecticut State University, and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration from State University System of New York (SUNY) New Paltz. She also holds a Doctorate in Educational Administration and Policy Studies from SUNY Albany. To facilitate her understanding of the role and responsibilities of a school superintendent, Dr. Affigne completed the Superintendent Development Program through the New York State Council of School Superintendents (NYSCOSS) Future Superintendents Academy. She also participated in the Human Resource Boot Camp: A Certification Program for Building Administrators (Putnam-Northern Westchester BOCES) and School Business Fundamentals for District and Building Leaders (Pace University School of Education). She is an active member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD). Dr. Affigne is a member of the Millbrook  Music Boosters, Millbrook Parent Teacher Organization, Millbrook Community Festival Choir (vocalist), and St. Joseph's Church Choir (Vocalist and Flautist). You will need to provide your name, e-mail address, phone number, and physical address. Ms. Gonzalez  has been an administrator since 2015, and is currently the School Business Official for Liberty Central School District. Prior to Liberty, Ms. Gonzalez was a shared Business Manager for Delaware-Chenango-Madison-Otsego BOCES for Otselic Valley, Sidney, and Unatego school districts. Ms. Gonzalez received her Associates of Applied Science degree in Architectural Engineering  from Alfred State College, a Bachelors degree in Accounting from Chatham College, a Masters degree in Business Administration (M.B.A.) and a Masters degree in Information Science (M.I.S.) from the University of Phoenix, and will be a completing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership (EdD) in December 2020.  She will be continuing her education in January 2021 to complete a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction. Ms. Gonzalez obtained her School District Business Leader Certification from the College of Saint Rose and School District Leader  Certification from Canisius College in 2018.
