Coty Bishop (Class of 2008) was inducted into the DCMO BOCES Career and Technical Education Alumni Hall of Fame in June 2023. This major recognition ensures that he will be remembered for his high achievement and will always serve as a reminder to students of what's possible.

Coty's eligibility for this award included his having graduated from a CTE program at DCMO BOCES, his engagement in an occupation related to his completed BOCES program, and his civic responsibility. DCMO BOCES identifies successful graduates like Coty so students can see the potential for success. That's exactly what Coty has demonstrated: an impressive professional and educational history of achievement.

While at Otselic Valley, he also studied Automotive Technology through the Career and Technical Program at the Pole Campus in Norwich. Coty went on to receive a degree in Auto & Diesel Technology (2009) from Ohio Technical College, an Associate degree in Business Administration (2021) from Southern New Hampshire University, and a Bachelor's degree  in Business Administration (2023) from Southern New Hampshire University.

Professionally, Coty's career arc reflects continued and significant achievement. He began a welding career at Raymond Corporation in 2010 and was quickly promoted to Machine Technical Specialist (Weld Robot programmer) in 2013. In 2017 he was promoted to Welding Supervisor at Raymond, then Welding Manager at Raymond (2021), then Program Manager of Capital Equipment at Raymond (2023).

Coty also volunteers for Skills USA New York,  a partnership of of students, teachers, and industry  committed to building an equipped workforce that enables communities to thrive. You can also find him at the New York State  Fairgrounds every year where he chairs a Welding Fabrication competition. "Coty's leadership during the day leading up to the conference continues to impress," said DCMO BOCES.

His family and all of us at Otselic Valley are very proud of Coty. He is an exceptional example of what's possible with ambition, strength, resilience, commitment, and a willingness to keep moving forward.
