To make it easier for district residents to pay school taxes, we’ve expanded how and where taxes can be paid:
–Walk-in taxpayers paying by check: A drop box is located at the South Otselic branch of NBT Bank, and those payments are picked up daily. When paying at the drop box, please include your tax stub along with your check payment.
–Walk-in taxpayers paying with cash: Please present your tax bill and cash payment to the NBT Bank teller and they will draft a bank check payable to Otselic Valley Central School District that you can place in the drop box. Processing these payments generally takes 1-2 business days.
–Mail in tax payments: All tax payment mailings should be sent to Otselic Valley Central School District, Attention: Tax Collector, PO Box 161, 125 County Road 13A, South Otselic, NY 13155.
–NEW THIS YEAR > In-person payments: The Tax Collector will be at the bus garage in the old Georgetown school on Wednesday afternoons from 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm for your convenience during the month of September. Enter through the double doors just to the left of the garage bays.
Tax information (including payments) will also be available using the InfoTax web site found here.
Important dates: October 2, 2023 is the last day to pay without penalty. After November 1, unpaid bills are turned back to the counties and those amounts are added to their property taxes which come out in January.
Did you know? Taxpayers who own numerous parcels can pay for all parcels with one check. Just be sure to include the tax stub at the bottom when submitting your payment.
