With a heavy heart, we are sharing sad news: A student in our school community passed away on Monday, April 15 due to natural causes. Leanna Rothwell had been a long-time student in our district, most recently attending a BOCES program of her choice.
Those who knew Leanna understood just how special she was. She hoped to be an advocate for those suffering from debilitating medical conditions. Leanna leaves behind her mom and dad, as well as two younger sisters.
Support has been offered to Leanna's family, our students, and staff and will continue for as long as it’s needed.
Our thoughts and prayers surround Leanna’s family, her friends, and others impacted by this unexpected and heartbreaking loss. Take care of yourselves and each other, OV.
