Viking Courage Award winners

To highlight those who have shown courage in their actions, Mr. Wentworth and Mrs. Osowski are introducing the Viking Courage Award. The award will be presented monthly to a middle and high school student. This award recognizes individuals who demonstrate courage by engaging in activities outside of school that contribute to their personal growth or make a positive impact on the community.

Mr. Wentworth and Mrs. Osowski will select the recipients based on nominations submitted each month by students and staff. It is the hope that recognizing students, and their acts of courage will inspire others to be brave, step out of their comfort zones, and actively engage with the larger community.

This month the two recipients are Makenzy Clemens and David Palmer III.

Makenzy Clemens has been elected as a voting member of the Youth Board on behalf of the children of Chenango County. The mission of the Youth Bureau is to build a strong foundation for all youth to become healthy, productive members of our community. In her role Makenzy will attend monthly meetings and give input on funding and events for the Youth and Family Services Planning Committee for the county. Congratulations, Makenzy!
